HOYTS Gift Cards and HOYTS E-Gift Cards

These Terms and Conditions govern the use and operation of your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card.

HOYTS Gift Cards or HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be sold without the prior written consent of HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd. HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS Gift Cards’.

1. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

1.1 You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions by purchasing, activating, using or attempting to use your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card, or making any transactional query.

1.2 By using a HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card, you warrant to us that you will comply with these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and that your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card will not be used in any manner which is unlawful, misleading, deceptive or unfair.

1.3 If you are giving a HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card to another person, you must ensure that the recipient is aware of the Terms and Conditions that apply to the HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card, and the relevant expiry date.

1.4 HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd reserves the right to amend all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time.

2. Purchasing a HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card

2.1 HOYTS Gift Cards can be purchased from any HOYTS cinema in Australia, or online from shop.hoyts.com.au or b2bshop.hoyts.com.au. If purchased online, a delivery fee will be charged.

2.2 HOYTS E-Gift Cards can be purchased online from b2bshop.hoyts.com.au.

2.2 HOYTS Gift Cards or HOYTS E-Gift Cards purchased online from b2bshop.hoyts.com.au can be loaded with $30, $50, $100, $200 or $500 for Standard gift cards and $50, $100, $200, $500 for LUX Gift Cards.

2.3 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards may also be purchased from any third-party outlet approved by HOYTS, as amended from time to time.

2.4 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards purchased from any third-party outlet approved by HOYTS, can be individually loaded with $30, $50 or $100.

2.5 Once a HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card has been purchased, it cannot be refunded.

2.6 HOYTS is not liable for any Gift Cards purchased through any online auction sites.

3. Redeeming a HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card

3.1 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards can be redeemed at any HOYTS cinema in Australia at the Box Office or Candy Bar for tickets to any available movie session at any time, as well as for any items at the Candy Bar. Any value redeemed will be deducted from the available balance.

3.2 HOYTS cinema locations may change from time to time, please refer to HOYTS.COM.AU for a full list of HOYTS cinema locations.

3.3 If your purchase/s exceed the available balance on your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card, you must pay the excess using another method of payment.

3.4 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards are valid for 36 months from the date of purchase. Our record of your expiry date is final. Once your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card has expired the HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card cannot be re-activated and any unspent value cannot by used or redeemed by you.

3.4.1 All Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards purchased prior to March 22nd, 2018 will continue to expire on the initial 12-month validity date that was issued at the time of purchase. HOYTS will not accommodate requests to extend this date. Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards purchased after March 22nd, 2018 will be issued with a 3-year expiration date from the time of purchase.

3.5 Once a HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card has been purchased and loaded with value or when the HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card has reached a $0 balance, no further value can be added to it.

3.6 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash. No cash advances will be made at any time.

3.7 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for prepaid movie vouchers, HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards or HOYTS E-Gift Cards.

3.8 You do not need to use the entire available balance in one transaction. No change will be given, however, the remaining available balance may be applied to future purchases until the HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card expires or the balance reaches $0.

3.9 Your PIN will be required to be entered on any redemption transaction.

4. Transaction Information

4.1 You can check the expiry date, available balance and transaction history of your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card by visiting hoyts.com.au/gift-card

4.2 To find out information on your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card using the link above, you will be required to enter your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card number and PIN.

4.3 Your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card number and PIN are located on the back of your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card.

5. Lost or Stolen HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards

5.1 You should treat your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card like cash.

5.2 HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged.

5.3 We reserve the right to place a stop on your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card if:
(a) you report that your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card has been lost, stolen or damaged; or
(b) we believe (or reasonably suspect) that you have used (or will use) your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card contrary to these Terms and Conditions.

5.4 At our absolute discretion, we may change our policies and procedures on lost, stolen or damaged HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Cards. If we decide to do this, we will publish details on our website.

6 Errors and Complaints

6.1 If you wish to dispute an amount deducted from your HOYTS Gift Card or HOYTS E-Gift Card, you must contact our Head Office or visit the Box Office at any HOYTS cinema in Australia. If an amount is not disputed within ninety (90) days after the transaction date, we may (at our sole discretion) refuse to provide you with a refund.

Voucher Products

Adult Voucher and Adult E-Voucher

This voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar, or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or via the HOYTS app for your ticket.

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard seat for one (1) Adult, for any Standard session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia, excluding Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm onwards and public holidays.

Upgrade fees may apply for select experiences and seating concepts, including (but not limited to) 3D, Xtremescreen, D-BOX, Samsung Onyx, Lounge, ScreenX, IMAX, and Recliners. Upgrade fees will be applied at the time of redemption and are subject to change at any time.

This voucher is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended, or replaced. If redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU both the voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS CineVoucher’. This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for and/or upgraded to HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed or special or group events
redeemed on public holidays

Child Voucher and Child E-Voucher

This voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar, or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard seat for one (1) Child, aged between three (3) and fifteen (15) years of age, for any Standard session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia, excluding Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm onwards and public holidays. Children under three (3) years of age occupying their own seat must purchase a ticket.

This voucher is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended, or replaced. If redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU, both the voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS CineVoucher’. This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for and/or upgraded to HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed or special or group events
redeemed for a guest older than fifteen (15) years of age
redeemed on public holidays
used to purchase 3D glasses. 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost
used in conjunction with any other offer
replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged
used to purchase any pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards or HOYTS Rewards memberships
exchanged for cash and change will not be given irrespective of cinema pricing

LUX Voucher and LUX E-Voucher

This voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar, or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or via the HOYTS app for your ticket.

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) ticket to a HOYTS LUX session where available at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia, excluding Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm onwards and public holidays. Guests under eighteen (18) years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in HOYTS LUX areas at all times. Valid photo ID must be produced upon request.

Upgrade fees apply for 3D HOYTS LUX sessions. Upgrade fees will be applied at the time of redemption and are subject to change at any time.

HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS CineVoucher’. This voucher cannot be:

redeemed and/or upgraded to HOYTS Daybed, IMAX, special or group events
redeemed on public holidays
used to purchase 3D glasses, 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost
used in conjunction with any other offers
replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged
used to purchase any pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards or HOYTS Rewards memberships
exchanged for cash and change will not be given irrespective of cinema pricing
used and/or sold by a person or company as an incentive for a third party to purchase other goods or services or be incorporated into an offer by that person or company for a third party to purchase other goods or services without the prior written consent of The HOYTS Corporation Pty Limited.

Adult Unrestricted Voucher and Adult Unrestricted E-Voucher

This voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar, or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or via the HOYTS app for your ticket.

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard seat for one (1) Adult, for any Standard session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia.

HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS CineVoucher’. This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for and/or upgraded to HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed or special or group events

This voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU for your ticket.

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard seat for one (1) adult for any Standard session at HOYTS Cinemas in South Australia ONLY, excluding Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm onwards, and on public holidays.

HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS CineVoucher’. This voucher cannot be:

redeemed at any HOYTS location outside of South Australia
redeemed for and/or upgraded to HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed or special or group events
redeemed on public holidays
used to purchase 3D glasses. 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard seat for one (1) Adult, for any Standard session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia for sessions screening on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday only, excluding public holidays.

HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS CineVoucher’.

This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for and/or upgraded to HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed or special or group events
redeemed on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays

This voucher is redeemable over the counter at HOYTS Cinemas for one (1) Regular combo comprising of one (1) Regular generic popcorn, and one (1) Regular generic postmix drink. Upgrade fees apply for Frozone drinks.

This voucher is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended, or replaced.

This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for any other food or beverage item
redeemed for any tickets or other merchandise
redeemed online or via the HOYTS app
used in conjunction with any other offer
replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged
used to purchase any pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards or HOYTS Rewards memberships
exchanged for cash and change will not be given irrespective of cinema pricing

Candy Bar Trio E-Voucher

This voucher is redeemable over the counter at HOYTS Cinemas for one (1) Regular combo comprising of one (1) Regular generic popcorn, one (1) Regular generic postmix drink and one (1) choc top. Upgrade fees apply for Frozone drinks.

This voucher may be redeemed for a large combo (generic popcorn and drink) with am upgrade fee, payable on redemption. No upsize is available for choc tops.

This voucher is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended, or replaced.

This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for any other food or beverage item
redeemed for any tickets or other merchandise
redeemed online or via the HOYTS app
used in conjunction with any other offer
replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged
used to purchase any pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards or HOYTS Rewards memberships
exchanged for cash and change will not be given irrespective of cinema pricing
sold without the prior written consent of HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd.
